Love Adds Two More Cup Series Races In RCR No. 33
WELCOME, N.C. – Jesse Love will make two additional NASCAR Cup Series appearances in Richard Childress Racing’s No. 33 Chevrolet this season, bringing his total schedule at stock car racing’s top level to five races.
Again with the support of C4 Ultimate Energy, Love will compete in Sunday’s AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway, as well as at Richmond (Va.) Raceway in the Aug. 16 Cook Out 400.
The 20-year-old from Menlo Park, Calif., qualified the No. 33 in the top 20 for his Cup Series debut at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway in mid-April and reached the checkered flag cleanly.
Then, driving for RCR technical partner Beard Motorsports, Love was poised to better the finish from his first race before a late incident eliminated him this past weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.
Love will get a chance at redemption and continued learning in America’s Heartland, as he races back-to-back events in the Cup Series for the first time in his young career.
“I’m looking forward to being back behind the wheel of the No. 33 C4 Ultimate Energy Chevrolet this weekend at Kansas,” said Love. “Kansas has been a great track for me throughout my career and to have the opportunity to run the Cup car consecutive weeks on a mile-and-a-half track is going to be valuable experience.
“The focus for these races is to continue learning and understanding how this car feels compared to other cars that I’ve raced in the past.”
Love is in the midst of his second full-time season in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with RCR, sitting fourth in the regular season standings after 12 races.
He won the season opener at Daytona (Fla.) Int’l Speedway in February to lock himself into the playoffs, and also has two poles, three top fives, and eight top 10s in total, as well as 156 laps led.
Nutrabolt, the owner of the C4 line of products, is the No. 1 selling global pre-workout brand and one of the fastest growing energy drink companies in the country.
C4 Energy is scheduled to sponsor Love in all his announced Cup Series starts this year.
Broadcast coverage of the AdventHealth 400 at Kansas is slated for Sunday, May 11 at 3 p.m. ET, live on FS1, the Motor Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
