Jesse Love Picks Up A Trio of Top-10’s with Cox Racing

PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking part in four nights of winged sprint car racing with Cox Racing over the last week, Jesse Love would put together some solid runs that were highlighted by a trio of Top-10 finishes.

“It was a pretty good week,” Jesse Love said. “We picked up two Top-10’s and we were fast throughout the entire week.”

Kicking the busy week off at Marysville Raceway, Love would time the HomeSmiles.Com/Toyota/Toyota TRD backed No. 44 entry in seventh fastest in time trials, and would go on to pick up an eighth-place finish in what would be a non-stop feature event.

Friday night, the youngster would make the trip to Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA where he made his first-ever start at the scenic speedway. With 30 cars on hand, Love would acclimate well to the track as he was fifth fastest in time trials.

Getting through his heat, Love would find himself in the Dash where an eighth-place finish put him in the fourth row of the 30-lap feature event.

On a tricky surface that was slick and had a very big cushion, Love would have his elbows up as he continued to feel out the Ocean Speedway surface. Admittedly making a few costly mistakes in the feature, Love would still keep his machine in the Top-10 as he closed the night out with a 10th place finish.

Saturday night would see Love take on 45 other cars at the 15th Annual Mark Forni Classic in Placerville, CA. In the end, Love would be unable to get himself out of the ‘B’ against a stout field of cars as he finished 9th in the semi.

Sunday night brought on Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA to put a cap on the four-race stretch.

Timing in seventh fastest amongst the 39 cars checked in, Love would take the green flag from the 13th starting position. On a tricky surface, Love would put on quite a charge as he carved his way forward.

Breaking into the Top-10, Love would close his night out with a seventh-place finish.

“It was good to get so many races in, and I think it helped me figure some things out nightly,” Love added. “It was a good week for us, and hopefully we can continue to build off of it.”

ON TAP: Love and Cox Racing are now set for ASCS Speedweek kicking off at Knoxville Raceway on August 6th.

BY THE NUMBERS: Races-12, Wins-0, Top 5’s-2, Top-10’s-6
